Day 6 of the Meditation Challenge – Miraculous Magnificence

A funny thing with meditation that I am noticing is that it isn’t concrete so you are trying to figure out if it is working… I mean it is tough to measure the changes… with that being said. I can definitely feel significant changes and things happening around me constantly. Today I meditated in the evening instead of the morning due to a scheduling issue. I had to get my kids to a early morning birthday party at Kangaroo Jac’s (one of those Jumpy Places — I call it purgatory). Anyway, I made it a point to do the meditation before meeting up with an old friend that I had lost connection with since I was 20 years old. I think the meditation calmed me and made me more aware and open to new possibilities.

The meeting went incredibly well and we definitely reconnected… you know that feeling when you meet up with someone from years ago but then you don’t meet up again because there is nothing really left there. Both of you have moved in complete different directions? Well this was the opposite. It actually was odd how connected and parallel we are at this time in our lives. I say the universe is magnificent for sure. I am thrilled to have her back in my life and I look forward to beginning this new friendship.

Are there people in your life that you wonder what happened to? If the time is right and the energy is right put it out there and the rest will take care of itself. I truly believe that people are brought into your life at the perfect moment if you are open and aware and willing to accept it.

Have a beautiful night!
Namaste

Yes, I believe meditation and inner development itself is not so concrete either. It seems to be more of a gradual process of development and unfolding. Its a bit like a tree growing, where we don’t see its growth on an everyday basis but, over years of looking at the same tree, we may notice that it has blossomed, or gotten taller, or thicker . In my experience, my own growth was initially noticed by me only when compared against my passed relationships to people, places, and things. I mostly see/saw my development and maturity through my manner of “reaction or non-reaction” to certain situations. One caveat about meditation and spiritual development, is that your sensitivity to everything will increase, every elemental expression of your personality will increase, and all the mutable qualities of your emotional nature will intensify. This can be both pleasant and sometimes rather unpleasant- but its worth it. Through this “increase in qualities,” I have learned balance by remaining centered (in both happy and crappy situations) as well as abundance via the law of necessity.

    Meditate ON!
    enjoy.

    Khalil,
Thank you first for commenting on this post. I was very moved by this particular meditation and I am glad you connected with it as well. I love your explanation of the reaction or non-reaction. I have found doing Bikram Yoga helped me greatly with this… Bikram Yoga is really a 90 min active meditation. I think I have had profound changes in me from just that alone. I can only imagine what quiet solo meditation will do for me. I agree with the sensitivity part as well. Thank you again for your perspective and sharing! I am sure anyone reading this will have gained so much from reading your post. Have a beautiful night!

    Namaste!
