Day 10 of “Clean” Cleanse – Just about half way

Well I am nearing the end of Day 10 on this 21 day cleanse and I have to say it has been really easy. I mean easy in that I haven’t been craving my usual sweets and breads and cheese and coffee. I am excited to say that it has been a very smooth process. I again encourage anyone that is trying to reset their bodies or have a fresh start into a healthy way of life to embark on this journey.

I am in the habit now of making my smoothies in the morning and evening and I look forward to having a healthy small lunch. Below is a typical salad that I eat for lunch:

Looks yummy right? Well it really is and so good for you too. Coconut water has been a main staple in my diet. I have about 4 little bottles a day.  Michael got me a great deal on the O.N.E. organic coconut water from Amazon in the “warehouse deal” section and he ordered me 10 cases! The cool thing is that it comes with a straw too which makes it easier to drink on the go.

This past weekend I went to the Mid-Atlantic Asana Yoga Championships with Katie and we ate at the most amazing Vegetarian restaurant in Falls Church, VA. It was so delicious and we ordered totally from the approved list of foods. Kale sauteed and miso soup and brown rice sushi roll with avocado and cucumber and seaweed salad.  I wish there was one of these restaurants here!

Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant - awesomeness!

If you are ever in the DC area definitely hit this restaurant up!! Great food and atmosphere and super healthy too!

I have been keeping up with the supplements and going to Bikram yoga every day but I skipped Saturday for the competition and Sunday to have some good family time. Energy wise it has been up and down. I have been having a hard time falling asleep at night despite my body being tired but my mind and head are wide awake. Katie and I seem to have this same problem. She is using the energy in a productive way and organizing like a crazy woman. She sent me pics of all her organizing projects while I was just laying in bed trying to sleep. This is probably the reason why I feel the need to organize so much. That will have to be another challenge I try.

Last night I had the best Bikram Yoga class since  I started this cleanse and the Angel Natalie was teaching! It was a super packed class and I was next to Katie in class and we both just had a kick ass class and boy it felt good. Only to be brought down to reality tonight. My class tonight was so tough and I felt out of energy and had to sit out some poses. I think I didn’t drink enough water today or just my body was tired. I am still glad I went. Even though classes are tough they are still so good for you and the sweating alone has such amazing detoxing benefits.

I have been taking the detox baths most nights except for tonight. Last night I finally got a good super hot bath and I got the crazy effect from the detox bath that I was looking for. I was sweating and it totally wiped me out like the lady said it would on the clean program message boards. I think that’s why I decided to take tonight off. I will probably continue the baths again tomorrow night.

Katie and I have already planned our amazing yummy celebration dinner after the cleanse. We are going to Stella’s and so excited. This place probably has the best food I have had in Richmond, VA. It is always hard to get in there and I totally understand why -the food is AMAZING!!!

I also started juicing again and today I tried a recipe from the book.

one peeled lemon

2 apples

1/2 inch of fresh ginger

1 cup of spinach

It was delicious and very nice to have a different type of drink. I hope the rest of the cleanse will keep going this way. I would like to regain more motivation to do other things in my life though. I think the cleanse is making me really laid back when it comes to all the “to do” lists I have going on. I know I will get clear headed soon and feel invigorated and ready to take everything on. I am just waiting for that to happen. I will keep you posted.
