My Son is a Future Entrepreneur: First Day of 2nd Grade and He Already Despises the System
Today was the first day of school for us here in Richmond and my son started the 2nd Grade. I will start by saying that I wasn’t the typical Mom getting my son all ready for school the night before by getting him to bed extra early and having all the paperwork already done and ready to go. This is where we were until about 8pm last night
He had a blast and so did his sweet baby sister who did not have to get up early today for school (she slept in until about 9am). Then we ate dinner and finally I got the kids into bed about 9:30ish… not too bad right… well, apparently he got up in the middle of the night because he was worried about the alarm being so loud and waking him up (he has a lot of sensory issues with his being on the Autism Spectrum)
Thank you sweet Jesus that he came downstairs and found Michael at about 3:30am. I think he tossed and turned the rest of the night and the 6:30am wake up didn’t go too well… Let’s just say getting all this papers together and lunch and getting him to eat a few bites of breakfast was an Olympic feat!
We always love to get a great First Day of School picture.. everyone posts them on FaceBook and you see how cute and fresh and excited all the kids look… well this is what Sebastian’s looked like…
Sebastian announced to me that
I have changed my mind Mom, I DO NOT want to go to Second grade. It isn’t necessary for me to go there!
I had to hold my laughter in.. I chuckled to myself and I know Michael was chuckling was well… We both just looked at each other and said there is no way this kid is going to be working some 8-5 job… he is definitely a Entrepreneur in the making.
Don’t get me wrong I am so blessed and grateful for the AMAZING school and teacher he has. We have a wonderful situation with so much support and he has made leaps and bounds with all his issues so I have to feel immense gratitude for the village that has helped make him into the outspoken, confident, interesting 7 year old boy he is!
Sebastian has made the law of attraction work for him his entire life. He manages to attract the most amazing support team of teachers, doctors, therapists, friends…etc in his life path. I am in awe in watching how he navigates this life!
I will close by saying by the time we raced out the door and drove around the block to the bus stop for fear of missing the bus, all was better and he was ready to start the year off with a BANG!
He came home with an AWESOME note of a great first day of school and a grin from ear to ear! WE are so blessed! Happy School Year to you all!!
