Day 59 of Challenge (60/60), Class # 59 – OMG it’s almost the end of the Challenge!
Well I am back refreshed (well sort of refreshed) from my two days away from Bikram Yoga. We had a great time at the Great Wolf Lodge and I highly recommend it for all ages. It’s just a super fun place and just an hour away too. Technically I could have taken class the last two days and made it work but it was nice to get a break and give my body a little rest… I definitely needed it. I have been eating like a professional eater the last week or so. Something about the holidays definitely bring out the inner food beast in me. That makes class a little bit of a challenge but the yummy food is worth it.
I took an extra vacation day today and I am so glad I did. It was really nice to be lazy today and just relax at home with my little one. Sebastian had school but Kindergarten is all fun and games so I am sure he was happy to be there. I made sure to get back on track with my supplements and drinking coconut water and Emergen-C right before class tonight. The weather has been unusually mild so my allergies have been out of control.
Natalie taught the 5pm tonight and I was happy to see her. There were a few newbies tonight and the room was nicely busy. I had space around me tonight. It felt odd at first since it has been so crowded the last few weeks at every class it seems. I had a strong class tonight and definitely hydrating enough has made a huge difference. I still feel pretty achy and sore. I am thinking this will take a while to heal since I have been doing so many consecutive classes. One of the yoginis after class asked me if I planned to take a break after the challenge is done. I do plan to take a day off here and there but not a whole week or anything at this point. I think with the holidays coming I am sure I will be taking time off with preparing for Christmas. I have to take care of that shopping, wrapping, baking!
Natalie announced in class that I was on class 59 and so was Sam (her dad). We are powering through! It definitely resembles the feeling of when I ran a marathon and rounding the last two miles. You are in pain but you just keep plugging along. I guess this is a Yoga Marathon. For me it has been more a mental challenge than physical. I feel more introspective than before and more forgiving of myself from this 60/60. It’s so important to be gentle to yourself… I realize that now. I have also released many things that have been heavy burdens on me internally. I feel sad that tomorrow is class 60 and so happy at the same time. Natalie said, “You should go to 100!” on my way out the door… I said, “NO WAY!!” But it would be interesting… I wonder what I would learn if I went to 100.
I better get some rest. I have to face the real world tomorrow and my last class of the Challenge!
Namaste Peeps!
