Day 42 of Challenge (60/60), Class #44 ~ It must be the Full Moon!
I originally planned to hit the morning class and attend the Mila (Chia) Seminar after but I had some things come up at work. I decided to wait and take the 5pm. When I went into the seminar everyone was saying how hot the class was and to be glad I chose not to come. I looked over and saw Marcia and said, “What? You made it that hot?” She said it was normal and not that bad. I will do a separate post on Mila in the Nutrition/Diet section soon. Basically it’s the chia seeds and a brand of it sold by an independent distributor.
I had a pretty busy day at work but I was making sure to hydrate and take my chia and e3live. I also made sure to drink a coconut water before class again. That really seemed to help me out yesterday. When I got to the 5pm class it seemed really busy for a Friday. I saw Pavida and thought hope it won’t be too tough today, but I felt ready to handle it. I found a good spot up front next to Lisa T today and had enough time to chat for a minute before class. Pavida made me laugh because she brought up my writing about the older stretchy bendy guy in class yesterday. Apparently he was right there in the lobby and overheard I mentioned him in the blog. He told me had been practicing for 5 years. That made me feel better knowing it took him a few years to get to that point.
Class started a little late and Pavida said there were 7 people knocking on the door after she locked it to begin class. They are lucky she let them in. Most studios seem to be pretty strict about entering class late. Note for newbies: come to class at least 20 minutes early and come prepared with towel, mat, water, and non restricting clothes.
Let me just say this was one of the strangest classes I have been in to date. There were a ton of new people and one right behind me. She was extremely distracting and even tried to walk around during class. Pavida even mentioned in class once she would bring people coconut water if they would just stay in the room. The funny thing was that there was a very pregnant woman in the back of the class and she seemed to be coping just fine. I mean come on people if a pregnant woman can handle the heat you should be able to suck it up.
With that being said it was a very hot class but bearable for me thanks to the coconut water. I even withheld drinking water during the “Party Time”. I had a moment of thinking I would go the entire class without drinking but when I hit Triangle posture I broke down and drank. Pavida mentioned after class that it is ok to drink water and to not feel bad about it. It isn’t a Bikram thing, it’s a personal thing people do to remain still and focused in class. That did take the pressure off of me in feeling I need to get to that point.
After the strange distracting class when we went into final savasna the lady behind decided to have a loud full blow conversation with another woman she came with. Pavida asked everyone in the room to remain quiet but they got even louder it seemed. Finally Matt told them to zip it and I was so grateful when they shut up.
On may way home I looked up to see a full moon. I think it explained everything!
Namaste Peeps!
