Day 19 of Challenge (60/60), Class #20 – Farewell to Teacher Dave and now 1/3 Through Challenge!

Dave the Teacher

Dave the Teacher

Last night I saw on Facebook that the 5pm at West End Studio would be the last class Dave taught before leaving.  (You can see he posed for a picture after he taught our class… I know he was heading in to take  the 7pm class) I think he said he may come back for a visit in January possibly. If anyone wants to comment below on their favorite Davism from class, feel free to do so on the comments button below.

This morning was another crazy morning rushing off to an early appointment for work. I did make sure to have my chia and E3live after how I felt yesterday. The rainy weather made me want to take the day off and just beeline for the hot room. That is the best feeling to get into the hot room especially when it is cold and rainy out. Definitely much easier to practice in winter months.

I was a little zoned out today for some reason. I even brought in my work bag along with my yoga gear tonight. I got to the room and thought, “What the hell?” I ran back out and put it back in my car. Sometimes I do things unconsciously I feel like.

I felt pretty good today despite it being Day 19 and Class 20 for me. I didn’t get  to stretch really before class because I was running in a little late today. Despite that  I felt strong and not achy throughout class.

After the breathing exercise, Dave ran back to turn the heat up. He said he felt chilly in the room. Considering I was already sweating profusely… I wouldn’t classify the room as chilly. I knew once he turned that heat up… we were gonna bake!

It was pretty hot and humid tonight but not as bad as I anticipated earlier in class. I didn’t get to talk to many people tonight before class because I was running in late but it was nice to see Lisa T (she was on other side of room though… too far away to get her energy), Brian, and Emily.

I was kind of out of it during the balancing postures. I kept falling out of standing head to knee tonight more than usual. It’s almost like I had vertigo or something. I just kept telling myself don’t worry about it. I am glad I didn’t beat myself up about that because after those poses, the rest of the practice went really well tonight. Dave does have a way of holding each posture for an extra few more seconds. These extra seconds often feel like an eternity but I know my body thanks him even though I might be saying a couple curse words to myself while we are in posture.

At the end of class I was so happy to get that ice cold towel. I just felt wiped out and my skin was on fire. When I went to grab my towel and mat… it was soaked more than usual with sweat so it’s safe to say I really left it all on the mat tonight.

I hope that Dave has a safe trip back home and I am thankful for all the lessons and insights he has given in the last 3 classes he taught. I think it’s great that we get to experience different traveling teachers once in a while. I always try to take a class when a guest teacher visits. Something is always different and I always learn something new with each teacher.

I hope tomorrow I don’t have that vertigo feeling and I am curious which teacher I will get. Right now I am just living in the moment and feeling the euphoria after effect from class tonight. I would compare it to the “runners high” without the achy knees and joints.

Namaste Peeps!
