Day 15 of “Clean” Cleanse! less than a week left and feeling great!
I am in the home stretch now on this 21 day cleanse. I can’t believe how fast it has gone and continues to go. I am starting to feel the energy surges! This is a great thing since I have been kind of sluggish for a while. I figured I had a lot of toxins to remove from my body. I have been continuing to go to my Bikram Yoga almost daily but I have been taking off a day here and there just for rest and family time.
I read in the book it’s the last week that you really see all the benefits of the cleanse come into play. I am so excited about this. I have been eliminating a lot and I know that is a positive thing – always better out than in! I have been able to keep things simple by pretty much eating the same things for my lunch and doing the same smoothies for breakfast and dinner. This works best for me, keeping it simple. I am also someone that doesn’t get tired of eating the same thing. I know Katie is sick of smoothies and she said she has been juicing for breakfast instead of doing smoothies. I have found that juicing hasn’t been as easy for me so I am sticking to the smoothies.
I have also been able to eat out a lot and stay on the cleanse diet. On Friday I ate out at Mellow Mushroom in Charlottesville,VA which is my absolute favorite pizza place and I managed to not succumb and had a great salad:
It was filling and delicious and easy. Best of all I was able to maintain a normal life and go out to eat with people and not seem like a total weirdo doing only liquids. You don’t really think about how food revolves around our lives until you a do a cleanse of some sort. Every function, event, meeting seems to involve food.
I also made an incredible yummy brown rice stir fry on the cleanse program as well: I put in brown rice, chopped onion, garlic, carrots, spinach, mushroom, broccoli, and use little sesame oil and olive oil and sesame seeds. At the end I sprinkled some celtic salt and sprouted pumpkin seeds. I ate the rice with avocado and seaweed pieces… yum! It tasted like a california roll to me.
The hard part was making proper fried rice for my dear hubby afterward. It smelled divine with soy sauce and eggs and butter… I have noticed my sense of smell and taste has heightened greatly. I really like this side effect as well. It’s nice to really be able to taste everything and smell so well.
I have to say I feel much lighter and my yoga poses have been a lot easier to get into without the extra bulk and puffy feeling that I usually have. I know I have probably lost at least 6 or 7 pounds since I have started but the best thing is the overall healthy feeling that I have. I am excited to see what this week will bring and to finish this cleanse strong.
