Day 2 of Challenge, Class # 3

Ok, I was going to do another double today, but I was just not feeling it and housework and work, work were calling my name and I felt compelled to handle those duties today. I think knowing  I was probably still riding high on the euphoria of accomplishing my first double class – and I didn’t want it to get the best of me and crash and burn out too soon before this whole Challenge ends.

I settled on the 2pm today so I could get my other responsibilities over with and out of the way. I put back the extra water and towels I set aside the night before (see I was really planning on doing another double). When I got to the studio at the West End, I was happy to see Tighe was teaching. She is very knowledgable and does corrections in class. This can be good and bad. Good if you are feeling it that day but bad if you just want to get through class and not be noticed. Since I am all gung ho on this challenge business, it is a great thing Tighe is teaching. When I signed in I noticed Pavida taught the 12pm class so I am thanking the yoga gods that I did not decide to do the double.

Pavida and Tighe back to back would have been some tough ass classes to take. They both are awesome but tough! I say it with love though because tough makes you better and stronger but sometimes tough can be too much if you push too hard. For me a double today with these two would have been way more than I could have handled.

I set my mat up front once again and noticed Jim was taking a double himself – he looked beat up but ready to do it again. God I was thanking God again that I decided against the double. I was all achy and creaky from doing the double yesterday and my euphoria was definitely gone by that point. Also I noticed the room was hot today… not regular hot but hot hot. I said a little prayer for myself before class. I was so happy when Lisa walked in again sat next to me. I swear the energy of certain people in class really get you through it.

OK… class 3 is done and I am so happy and feel super hungry since it is 4pm and I have not eaten lunch. Unfortunately I did not have the healthy urge today. I had yummy chinese food from Chen’s Restaurant in Glen Allen. Which by the way has some rocking chinese food if you are in the mood for some.

As I write this I am excited I am documenting this journey. It is a first for me to share in such a regular way my life and what is happening in my head at the sametime. Usually my thoughts are too frantic and sporadic that I never take the time to document them. At the least, I will have this blog to look back on when I am old and gray(ok I will never be gray – lets be real here) but still ROCKING it with Bikram Yoga. Maybe then I will be able to do the postures to the full expression… I definitely will dream of that tonight.

Namaste Peeps!
