Day 32 of Challenge (60/60), Class #33 ~ It’s November! ~ Magic Coconut Water & Body Balance
Today was my Monday since I took yesterday off work. It was a busy one for me at work. I managed to sneak away and have a little quality time with my sweet daughter and hubby at my lunch hour. We went to House of Vietnam off Pump Rd. (Fantastic little place by the way). I was feeling pretty good today despite only 5 hours of sleep last night. I am crediting it to the yoga +e3live+chia seeds+Body Balance+coconut water. Actually come to think of it, the Body Balance and the coconut water are the only two different things to my regimen and I made it through the midday slump today without crashing.
I went to the 5pm class today and I had to rush there because I got caught up in some last minute work stuff. I was glad to make it with plenty of time to change and wash my makeup off and get centered before class. I definitely recommend everyone get to the studio at least 15 minutes before a class starts if you can. It definitely makes a difference going in with time on your hands versus rushing in right before they lock the door.
Natalie was teaching today and I knew I would be in for a great class. They took down the Challenge Chart for October and put up the one for November because the wall isn’t big enough to have both months at once. It was odd to see my name with no stickers by it. I decided to put a smiley face sticker on before class tonight just so there would be a sticker there. I tell you there is something about stickers.
There were lots of yoga friends in class today which always makes for great energy and a great class. There weren’t any first timers today. Sometimes there is a different energy when there are no first timers. Not necessarily bad or good, just different. Today my rear views were Rose Ann, Michelle, and Laura and next to me was Katherine. Unfortunately Lisa T. wasn’t in class today. On the other side of the room was Morgan and Lisa C. I am pretty sure everyone in the room was a regular and it was nice because there were no explanations needed in class today… it just flowed.
Another reason I think the Body Balance and coconut water are making great changes in my body is today in class I didn’t feel worn out or fatigued at all. Even though I only got 5 hours of sleep last night and had a crazy day at work, I felt really strong physically in class. Unfortunately I wasn’t feeling the yoga at the beginning of class for some reason. I think my mind was playing with me a bit and really trying to make me feel guilty for the time I am putting into this Challenge. Also I was just having an off day mentally. It’s so strange how some days you are so into the yoga mentally but your body is just whacked out and can’t do it and other days it’s like today. The body will cooperate but the mind is just not there for some reason. I just trusted it would be okay and reminded myself that just being in the room counts and makes a difference in your body. Once I released to that thought process, I got more into the class and by the second half I was really into it and back to normal mentally. I guess the yoga just took over and worked it’s magic as usual.
Tonight Natalie talked about “Relax your mind”. I think it was the perfect thing to say tonight since I was struggling with mine tonight, She also sang some fun little verses from Michael Jackson songs. That totally made my night and I was hoping she would start singing “The Way You Make Me Feel”.
At the end of class I made an effort to do some extra stretching after the meditation and ab work. I also attempted the splits again and got about 1 inch off the floor on my left side. The right side is still a work in progress. This is major big news for me – former stiff as a board chick. There may be hope for me after all!
On my way out tonight I ran into Brian. His wife, Kim, is at Teacher Training right now in California. He just got back from visiting her and was telling me about taking 3 classes out there and how crazy it was with all the people and the energy of the room. I can only imagine. It was interesting to hear his take on the experience she is having. I am excited to take her class and Amy’s class when they return in just a few weeks here.
Well overall tonight was a great way to start November out. I hope the rest of the month continues this way.
Namaste Peeps!
